When I decided to paint N8082A I knew I wanted to do it in the original factory scheme.  I started researching the 1952 paint scheme, finding pictures on the web, finding old ads, etc. and I quickly realized that a lot of people had tried to replicate the 1952 scheme.  Some of those people modified the scheme to suit their tastes and some tried to be faithful to the factory original; some with more success than others.  In the end, rather than try and guess my way through it, I decided to contact Cessna and order a copy of the original factory drawings for the 1952 paint scheme.  The exterior paint job you see below was reproduced from those very drawings.

Fresh out of the paint shop.
Prop is still being painted at
 this point.

 Top view - BIG N#s
 Yeah, baby!
Contrary to some beliefs, the N#s are 20" high, not 24".

  Here's a completed shot
 including prop.

Here's a partial shot of the
 panel showing the yoke with
 Cessna logo.
